12 Feb Player Learning Styles
It is common for coaches to instruct their players using their own preferred learning style (ie. If they are a visual learner they will use more visual cues than a coach who is a kinesthetic learner).
With any team, there will be players with different learning styles. To maximise the team’s potential, coaches need to both understand these styles and accomodate them in their instruction and feedback during both training and game situations.
There are a number of Player Learning styles that coaches should be aware of and from U14’s upwards (our thoughts only), coaches can visit www.vark-learn.com and then encourage their players to go on and complete the questionnaire (with parent approval).
Knowing the learning styles of your players and the team is a great advantage!
