Contact Skills & Tackling for Juniors

Mar23
2010
Written by crackers

The Modern Game were invited to the Level 1 Coaching Course (March 20th) to deliver a session to junior coaches on “Contact Skills and Tackling”.

For the U8 and U9 players that are just starting out, it is important they feel comfortable with body contact and falling on the ground before you introduce them to tackling.  As their coach, spend time with them on this area of the game first and then work with them to develop their tackling technique.

If you would like more information on the right approach or would like The Modern Game to come and work with your young players, we would love to hear from you or your club.

The Modern Game would also like to the thank the coaches that participated in our session and wish them all the best for this season and their coaching futures.
