“Development Role” with Upper Ferntree Gully Junior Football Club

Written by crackers

The Modern Game are pleased to announce that we have formed a partnership with Upper Ferntree Gully Junior Football Club that will commence immediately in preparation for the 2010 season and beyond.

Both parties are firm in their belief that developing players at the junior levels is critical. It not only provides them with the skills, knowledge and confidence for future years should they choose to continue playing; investing in them will hopefully encourage them to make the transition into senior football with the same club.

The Modern Game’s role will be to work with, develop, support and enhance the knowledge of the junior coaches  in the various age groups to ensure they are able to provide the players with the best possible chance to develop in all areas of their football as they move up through the age groups.

Upper Ferntree Gully Junior Football Club have 8 teams from U9′s – U16′s with all competitive age groups playing in finals in 2009.  In our opinion, they have a very professional approach, are absolutely committed to the players and their development and are fast moving towards being a “club of choice” for junior footballers and their families.

To add further value to the partnership, Upper Ferntree Gully “Senior” Football Club have also invested in this development program and as the players reach the higher age groups (U16′s), The Modern Game will be running development sessions that include introducing the players to the senior club and coaches to ensure they are not daunted by the transition into the senior levels.

We thank Upper Ferntree Gully Football Club/s for the opportunity to partner them – we couldn’t be more excited about the future and look forward to working with everyone involved.
