About Us

The Modern Game is an organization that provides the framework and resources to support the coaches and players of community football and sporting clubs.

We see community football and sporting clubs as a vital fabric from which strong communities grow and, through experience, we understand that many clubs require resources guidance and assistance to best achieve their outcomes/goals/mission.

Our philosophy and mission is to educate coaches, via our robust coaching framework, that junior football (sport) is not all about scoreboard results; it is about “developing and improving” the children with their sports skills and their general life skills.  If the focus is on these areas, the ‘results’ element will look after itself.

The Modern Game started with dual aims.  Initially, time was spent providing analysis for senior football clubs, on both opposition and their own teams.  Whilst doing this we became aware that many football clubs had well-resourced senior clubs, however, junior clubs that, serviced many more players, were struggling to best use their resources.  The most valuable resource these clubs had was their coaches, most of whom were passionate parents.

It was here that we decided to develop a coaching framework and help junior football clubs better support their coaches and as natural flow on, their players.  While will still have the capability to strategically support senior clubs at a game analysis level, the current demand means that we spend most of our time partnering with junior clubs.

In most instances we implement programs at club level however, we also work with individual coaches and teams.

It is our firm belief that our 3 Business Pillars allow us to provide clubs, coaches and players with greater knowledge, enhanced skill development and the opportunity to track their improvement.
