The Modern Game held a ‘Game Sense’ seminar on March 30th for junior football coaches and enthusiasts and, given the success of the seminar, we are interested to hear from any junior clubs/coaches that are keen to participate in this seminar in the future.

The Modern Game travels to Queenscliff
On March 5th, The Modern Game was invited down to Queenscliff Football Netball Club to deliver a ‘one day’ workshop to their coaches; both football and netball.
Player Learning Styles
It is common for coaches to instruct their players using their own preferred learning style (ie. If they are a visual learner they will use more visual cues than a coach who is a kinesthetic learner).

AFL National Coaching Conference – 2011
To all the aspiring AFL junior (& senior coaches) out there, this is one not to be missed!
While the 2011 AFL National Coaching conference is designed for coaches at any level, this conference will see the dedicated focus of coaching junior/youth stream throughout the main days of the conference.

Dave Madigan has officially joined the “The Modern Game” team.
‘Maddog’ (as he is affectionately known) is a fantatstic addition to our growing team and he has already been adding value to the clubs he has been working with.
Coach of the Year Awards 2010
As one of AFL Victoria many initiatives, the “Eastern Region” hold a ‘Coach of the Year Awards Night’ each year and clubs and coaches have the opportunity to nominate a coach or fellow coach they feel would be deserving of the award. The Modern Game are not sure if everyone is aware of the awards night and therefore, we wanted to share the information and attach the necessary documentation (see links below) in the event you may wish to be nominate someone or attend.
The Modern Game Partners with Donvale Magpies Junior Football Club

Kicking Workshop – A Great Success!
As mentioned in an earlier post, we ran a Kicking workshop on June 23rd, it was a great success and we are definitely planning to run more in future months!
