Craig is a Level 2 AFL Accredited Coach who has coupled his professional Client/People Management Skills in the Training Industry with his passion for learning, teaching and sharing his knowledge & experience in the sport of football. In doing so, he has set up a Coach Development/Education business known as The Modern Game.
Whilst Craig facilitates across a number of areas in the Coach Education space, he specializes in developing effective kicking; presenting at Level 1 Coaching Courses in the Eastern Region and working with individual clubs, coaches and players of all age groups at the grass roots level.
Craig has identified that one person cannot have all the necessary skills to support a Coach Development Program and hence has compiled a very experienced and impressive team of facilitators who can provide the necessary expertise to develop and execute programs for The Modern Game that meet the individual needs of all clubs and coaches.
As many do, Fish started his coaching career at the junior levels, coaching his boys at Mount Evelyn Junior Football Club and has now progressed to a practising Level 3 High Performance Coach.
Fish has a passion for coaching and a want to share his knowledge with like minded coaches. His ability to engage anyone at any level is his biggest asset and he sees The Modern Game as a vehicle for providing coaches at all levels with information they would generally not have access to through his many contacts at AFL level. Fish is currently an Assistant Coach (Midfield) with Eastern Ranges at U18 TAC Level and has recently been appointed as the Head Coach of Vic Metro Under 16`s.
David is a Level 1 AFL Coach from a teaching background. Most recently David was the Senior Coach at A Section VAFA club De La Salle. He has coached at both junior and senior levels and is currently an assistant coach at VFL club Box Hill. David recognises the challenges faced by clubs and coaches and he hopes to build confidence, knowledge and awareness in these coaches.
Sean is a level 2 accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach who has worked with the Tasmanian Tigers State Cricket Team as their Strength, Conditioning and Rehabilitation Coordinator, the Tasmanian Institute of Sport as a Strength and Conditioning Coach through the 2008 Beijing Olympics and is currently the High Performance Manager with the TAC cup team Eastern Ranges. Sean is passionate about his field and, while he has spent much of his career working with elite athletes, he understands junior sport and has a unique ability to take a complex topic and break it down to make it easy for junior coaches and players to understand.
Malcolm is a Judo Black belt with National & International competition and training experience, having twice been an official Training Partner to the Australian Olympic Judo Team (Athens 2004 & Beijing 2008).
Through Malcolm’s experience, he identified the relevance of Judo movements in relation to teaching “tackling” techniques in Australian Rules Football and in 2009 Malcolm became involved with numerous clubs; at first in a brief consultancy role at the Western Bulldogs which then lead to him providing a tackling and grappling program for their 2010 preseason. Malcolm has since been the tackling/grappling coach at numerous clubs including the Western Jets, Eastern Ranges, Calder Cannons, Oakleigh Charges, Vic Metro 16’s & !8’s and Knox Falcons juniors.
Malcolm’s has become a highly sought after specialist coach, ranging from grass roots to elite development level, where his sessions are highly interactive, very informative and the improvements in players’ technique are evident almost immediately.
